I work on difficult systems: rescuing stuck projects, reverse-engineering legacy technology, and modernizing platforms. I move between people, architecture, and code to turn ambiguous problems into working software.

THE WORK / 2015—PRESENTCOMPANY WORK & INDEPENDENT BUILDS

Work in
the real world.

From bank hardware to telemedicine,
with responsibility for people and code.

01.01 / CASH RECYCLING

Different devices.
One application.

Bank tellers’ cash transactions depended on third-party software. I owned the architecture and implementation of a device-agnostic replacement in Rust and React, with testing support from a predominantly non-developer team.

Two cash-recycling devices connect through adapters to one Rust application with a React teller interface and analytics.
10×devices per node — supported by simulator testing against the incumbent vendor solution’s known limits.
CONSTRAINT & APPROACH
Testing depended on physical cash devices. Built protocol simulators to test beyond the lab hardware, and adapters for two devices with room to add more.
TEAM & DELIVERY
Streamlined lab testing and releases with automated regression checks. Established documentation to retain knowledge and help new team members get started.
OUTCOME
Completed application, includes cash-usage dashboards, demand forecasts, and collection or replenishment recommendations.
One application. Three deployment modes.

Without additional development for each configuration.

Rescue

Find a way through.

TELEMEDICINE / JAPAN
Angfa / Medicalbase
Context
Three years of prior work had not met the needs of Angfa’s clinics in Japan.
Role & approach
Led the rescue and rebuild of Medicalbase, bringing onboarding, scheduling, patient records, prescriptions, and follow-ups into one telemedicine platform.
Outcome
My team and I delivered a working solution in four months.

TARGETED DEBUGGING
Flashfoods

Resolved recurring pre-production bugs in Stripe payments and order flows that had blocked the team for weeks.

Rebuild

Modernize existing platforms.

An exploded software stack, with its layers exposed and connected by construction lines.

TELEPHARMACY / E-COMMERCE
PharmacyOnline.co.uk

Led telepharmacy and e-commerce delivery. My hands-on work focused on Sanity CMS integration and custom questionnaires.

The platform covered the cart, payments, communications, ID validation, account management, backend inventory management, and shipping.
